Ndebele women have traditionally adorned themselves with a variety of ornaments to symbolise their status in society. Traditionally, married women wore this type of neck hoop called Isigolwani. The neck hoop was traditionally made of grass twisted into a coil and covered in beautiful beads, and worn on special occassions and ceremonies.
